Pre-press

The pre-press department traditionally had the highest environmental impact, with the use of film, abrasive chemistry and conventional printing plates. The switch to computer-to-plate and the use of third generation thermal plates has completely changed this. Pre-press is now a clean and environmentally sensitive process with all waste collected and dealt with in the appropriate and correct manner.

Further, at Fulmar Colour, the investment in new plant and equipment has lowered our energy use. Therefore we would say best practice involves working with our clients to get the artwork right first time, advising on the best and most economical way to produce the product and then producing it to a high standard with due care to the environment.
