Summary
Fulmar started the process of formalising environmental
management within the Group in November
2002. We appointed a registered IEMA environmental auditor, Chartered
Environmentalist, a full Member of the IEMA and an Affiliate Member
of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management,
to assist the Group with a total environmental strategy,
rather than just the usual ISO14001
implementation.
As a result, Fulmar Colour, in addition to having a full suite
of environmental accreditations (FSC,
PEFC, ISO14001 and Carbon Neutral), are available to offer
advice on materials, paper and ink.
In the year to 31st March 2011, by using the Revive range of
recycled papers instead of virgin fibre grades, Fulmar made significant reductions to its environmenal
impact. Download full details here.

Fulmar is unique in that it has its own in-house independent ink
laboratory, so all inks are mixed on site to order, therefore
reducing the amount of waste as well as eliminating regular
journeys from ink suppliers. We can also offer ink draw downs as
part of the Fulmar service at no extra cost.
We are proud to be one of a few printing companies within the UK
to have pioneered printing without the use of
alcohol and continue to do so, eliminating the damaging VOCs
normally associated with printing. Again it shows Fulmar's ongoing
commitment to the environment and customers by investing time and
money to provide the best possible service and end product whilst
never foregoing our environmental commitment.
We can therefore claim and evidence will support our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon
footprint and making print a sustainable and low impact
means of communication.
